The purpose of the position is to generate the strategic business intelligence needed to support business and operational data-driven decision making. The position focuses on the utilization of data visualization software such as Microsoft Power BI to enable visibility on business and operational performance metrics, leading and lagging indicators, as well as reporting requirements; working in collaboration with multiple departments for citizen-user interface as well as the development, maintenance, and sustenance of required digital infrastructure to support business data management processes.

The Business Analyst also participates in the development of strategic operating plans, budgets, and forecasts in accordance with the company’s short, mid, and long-term strategic objectives and supports business and operations personnel to ensure that objectives are achieved at all operating sites within area of accountabilities.

**DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Design, construct, and operate ancillary digital data infrastructure required to support efficient data analysis endeavors.
- Ensure key data is available and accessible across Dumas, and that business intelligence is efficiently and effectively communicated across the organization.
- Develop and provide clean and transformed data ready for analysis.
- Conduct data warehousing, data architecture, and data performance optimizations; in conjunction with other departments.
- Synergize with key business stakeholders to derive data-driven questions, and subsequently develop respective data-driven solutions.
- Build Microsoft Power BI dashboards/reports and streamline corporate reporting.
- Execute exploratory analysis that transforms, tests, deploys, and documents trial data sets.
- Use statistics and core analytics techniques to extract value from data, geared towards enhancing operational productive capacity and extract business improvement initiatives.
- Participate and support in descriptive, predictive, and prescriptive analysis.
- Assist in the development of discrete prediction models and establish the framework for the prospect of future deep and machine learning initiatives.
- Develop and communicate insights derived from data analytics.
- Work with business stakeholders to understand and coordinate the operationalization of analytical findings.
- Participate in the design of business-scale strategies that are geared towards delivering maximum business value.
- Participate in the integration of technical, tactical, and administrative strategies into standard operating practices.
- Catalyze technical, tactical/operational, and administrative decision-making processes for Dumas.
- Provide input to and support for the assembly of business and project specific forecasts.
- Assist in developing annual operating and capital budgets.
- Work closely with Senior and Executive Management in ongoing Strategic Objectives aimed at continuous project and business improvement.

**WORK EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL LEVEL**:

- Engineering diploma/degree from a recognized post-secondary institution or equivalent is considered an asset.
- Computer programing language is considered an asset.
- Proven digital data-product development skills.
- Experience with continuous improvement and value stream management is considered an asset.
- Previous experience within the mining services sector is considered an asset.
- Has the ability to work independently as required and/or as part of a high-performance team.
- Has a keen ability to communicate technical, commercial, and operational concepts and science-based principles to various audiences.
- High level of motivation - on time with attendance and deliverables.
- Commits to and delivers tasks with safety and competence.
- Flexibility in being able to meet requirements that may change based on shifting and competing business and project priorities.
- Works cooperatively with others being part of a team, holding and displaying values of the company.
- Adheres to company Policies/Procedures.
