**Summary of Duties**:
The General Labourer reports to the Assisted Living Supervisor. The General Labourer is responsible for snow removal and de-icing from walkways and driveways, travel will be required. When the weather permits, the General Labourer will also help chop and pack wood and water, when needed and helps with minor home repairs, as well as some small yard and garden work. The General Labourer will be responsible to help with some cleaning and heavy lifting, when needed. The General Labourer performs cleaning indoors and outdoors while ensuring minor maintenance is provided to help with home upkeep.

**Key Deliverables and Expectations**:

- Keeps the home and yard clean and safe, seasonal routines to address issues from the weather (snow)
- Chop and pack wood
- Packing of water
- Inform supervisor if a home and grounds are needing attention or service
- Minor carpentry for repairs
- Assembles products when needed
- Repair minor damage to floors, walls, windows, and doors - interior and exterior
- Organizes and maintains designated storage spaces, tools, and supplies in an orderly fashion
- Follows all applicable safety rules and procedures

**Experience and Attributes**:

- Completion of grade 10.
- Familiar with de-icing products and how to use them.
- Physically fit, able to lift 50 lbs and perform repetitive tasks
- Ability to use and maintain tools and supplies
- Must have basic Carpentry skills and experience
- Attention to detail and strong ability to take initiative
- Listening and communication skills - able to take direction well
- Must have Class 5 Driver's license and access to a reliable personal vehicle
- Must have a clear Criminal Record Check, Vulnerable Sector
- Must be fully vaccinated against Covid 19
