**JOB DESCRIPTION**

We are looking for a Brunch Barista to add to the ATAI team.

**DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**

**Operations**
- Sincerely greets and welcomes guests and assess their food and beverage needs through questions.
- Sells coffee and teas by explaining unique grinds, leaves and flavour profiles.
- Prepares and sells café drinks using prescribed recipes and techniques including drip coffees, espresso-based coffees and tea steeping weights and times.
- Generates revenues by attracting new guests and defining new and expanded services.
- Maintains inventories by replenishing coffee bean supply; stocking coffee brewing equipment; maintaining supplies, pastries, and cookies for coffee bar.
- Keeps equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; calling for repairs.
- Maintains safe and healthy work environment by following organization standards and sanitation regulations.
- Improves quality results by studying, evaluating, and re-designing processes; implementing changes; maintaining and improving the appearance of the store and coffee bar.
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading coffee, retail trade, and food service publications; maintaining personal networks.
- Enhances coffee shop reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.

**Sales Oriented**
- Answer questions about Café Concept, food, beverages and other restaurant & retail functions and services; explain/romance the menu concept, specialty Café equipment and style when necessary
- Make thoughtful food and beverage suggestions; ring in accordingly and accurately on specific table numbers
- Communicate with restaurant and retail team on unique and specific guest needs
- Obtaining revenues, issuing accurate receipts, accepting payments, returning change promptly

**SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS**
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- A Degree/ Diploma in Hospitality or equivalent considered an asset
- Passionate about customer service and the café culture.
- 2 years’ experience in a similar role, like environment and volume.
- Ability to work early mornings and alternating shifts.
- Handle requests and daily tasks courteously and productively, using appropriate language and tone of voice.
- Maintain a well-groomed appearance and adheres to uniform standards.
- Show willingness to be of assistance and take initiative in finding solutions when faced with obstacles.
- Actively listen to other points of view and share thoughts and ideas in order to reach common understanding
- Must have successfully completed an responsible alcohol service program i.e. Smart Serve

**Job Details**:
Term: Full time / Part time hourly

Hours: 15-40 hours per week (must have weekend availability)

Type: On-site (1212 Yonge Street, downtown)

Pay rate: $15- $17 / hour
