This is a TEMPORARY FULL-TIME Position with a start date as February 01, 2024 and end date as May 01, 2024.

**PURPOSE**

The Cook working 75 hours biweekly will prepare and provide food service to residents in a cost-effective, efficient manner to safely meet resident's needs in compliance with federal, provincial, and local requirements.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

(Principal Responsibilities. Other duties may be assigned).
- Prepare and cook full course meals for residents (follow recipes at all times)
- Prepare special meals as per resident’s dietary restrictions
- Ensure sanitation, safety guidelines and MOHLTC standards are met at all times
- Follow food production and preparation according to daily production sheets
- Ensure proper food temperature
- Monitor use of food to eliminate waste
- Ensure proper food distribution to each dining area
- Prep food for the following day and upcoming menus
- All other duties/projects assigned by the Director of Support Services

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/COMPETENCIES (Behavioral & Technical Skills)
- 3+ years experience as a Cook
- Must have a completed College chef training or culinary management diploma from a program that meets the standard established by the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, interpersonal, and communications skills
- Strong time management skills
- Extremely meticulous and detail-oriented
- Self motivated with a high degree of initiative, requiring mínimal supervision

**Salary**: $24.43-$24.72 per hour

Expected hours: 37.5 per week
