Supportive Living Roommate, Disability Support

EIS (Edmonton Integrated Services Ltd) is seeking to contract a **Supportive Living Roommate **(_aka Support Home Operator/SHO_) to provide care and daily living support for individuals with developmental disabilities.

EIS is a private Agency committed to the safety, wellbeing, and inclusion of Individuals with Developmental Disabilities. Our Agency develops and offers a variety of services and programs including Independent and Supported Living, Residential and Community Access and Inclusion Programs.
**About the Supportive Living Program**:The focus of this program is to provide an alternative for Individuals to live in an environment which supports their development and growth within a homelike atmosphere. Individuals are provided with a place to live usually within a supportive family home, and provided the necessary supports to thrive within the setting and the community.
The Supportive Roommate provides the necessary developmental supports and growth in a less “family - like” setting and on more of a “friend or roommate” basis. All the supports are intended to assist the Individual in learning skills to allow them as much independence and community inclusion as possible, while providing for their safety and security in their daily living.
**As a Supportive Roommate, you will receive a flat monthly payment for care and support provided and make a meaningful, positive difference in an individual with disabilities life**
**Responsibilities**:
- Provide care and support both within your home and in the community for an adult with developmental disabilities, including providing behavioral and mental health support.
- Accompany the individual to appointments, meetings, or activities during the day.
- Actively participate as a member of the individual's support team.
- Ensure the individual's active involvement in community activities and facilitate their integration into your household.
- Maintain thorough documentation as required.
**Requirements**:
- **Must reside within Sherwood Park, AB**:
- Demonstrated experience working directly with adults with developmental disabilities, specifically those with mental and emotional health needs.
- Background in disability support services, particularly in mental health support.
- Relevant education/training certifications, including First Aid, and Abuse Protocol strongly preferred.
- Reliable, well-maintained personal vehicle and valid driver’s License with liability Insurance coverage of two million.
- Ability and willingness to obtain commercial liability insurance.
- Current Police Criminal Record Clearance and Vulnerable Persons Sector Check.
**Job Type**: Fixed term contract
Contract length: 12 months

- Bachelor's Degree (preferred)
