**Overview**
The Principal serves as the head of school for The Study Academy’s Upper School program (grades 9-12), oversees operational directives, and is intimately involved in strategic planning. This multi-faceted role involves working directly with students, teachers, families, community partners, and other members of the organisational leadership team (President, Founder, Vice-Principal, Department Head, Student Success). Leadership and decision-making processes will be aligned with a Continuous Improvement Planning (CIP) approach and reflect the school’s mission* and priorities**.

Success in the position will be qualified and quantified by leading and sustaining a rich learning environment, fostering a healthy, inclusive, and equitable school culture, maintaining a capacity enrolment, managing a sustainable budget and school resources, continuing to build bridges to community partners, and ensuring compliance with governmental and non-governmental regulating and accrediting bodies. In addition to these operational objectives, the Principal will be strategically involved in the school's short
- and long-term planning.

Innovative, personable, growth-oriented, and learner-focussed, the Principal will lead as the face of the school and the centre of school-wide initiatives and work actively in heading committees and building leadership capacity in the faculty by distributing responsibilities to others.

**Responsibilities**
- Aligning practices to school mission
- Developing, communicating, and demonstrating expectations for learning
- Modelling and engaging in professional learning while supporting others to do so
- Building and adapting school timetables and calendar
- Fostering a healthy and open culture where stakeholders are provided opportunities to provide input and constructive feedback
- Managing incidents, behavioural plans, and collaborative problem-solving approaches to challenging behaviour
- Working with the Vice-Principal to ensure a robust and inclusive set of student activities and events
- Leading the HR team for hiring, firing, and discipline decisions and delivering feedback to members of the faculty
- Participating in the admissions process
- Headlining graduation, school awards, and school orientations
- Leading student reporting and parent-teacher conferences
- Managing school budget and resource allocations
- Ensuring continuity of philosophies and practices between Lower School and Upper School

**Compliance and Accreditation Requirements**
- Ministry of Education - OnSIS reporting, creating and maintaining OSRs, signing off on OSR transfers, annual Notice of Intention to Operate filing
- Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care - Vaccination reporting
- Ministry of Environment and Climate Change - Overseeing water lead testing protocols (annual submission and daily flushing)
- Cognia - Leading CIP and other certification initiatives

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $95,000.00-$110,000.00 per year
