Material Handler

This is an exciting, in-house, full-time position that includes a variety of challenges, and continuous learning as part of the Structural & Misc. Steel fabrication team. As a material handler, you will be the person who ensures that any necessary materials can be moved and/or delivered safely and efficiently to various stations, using forklifts and overhead cranes. Your duties include loading and unloading inventory, operating different types of machinery and various tasks.

DUTIES & RESPONSABILITIES
- Comply with all applicable health and safety principles, procedures, policies and company safety program
- Fulfill orders by packaging necessary materials and preparing them for shipment
- Store materials in appropriate areas
- Operate machinery such as forklifts and cranes
- Track inventory levels and make recommendations for purchases when supply is low
- Load material on conveyors & benches as required

QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Combination of additional education or 1 year of experience
- Ability to lift heavy loads and transfer them manually
- Great communication skills for working with others
- Attention to detail
- Organization skills
- Willing to perform repetitive tasks for extended periods

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The ability to stand continuously is essential, with frequent walking and occasional sitting. The nature of the position will require the employee to perform a wide range of physical activities from pushing and pulling, lifting and carrying heavy objects, to climbing, crouching, kneeling, bending and handling. Vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to focus.
