**Grader/Dozer Operator - Atlantic Road Construction & Paving**

ARCP is a locally owned & operated heavy civil construction company based in Dartmouth, NS. We have many interesting projects in progress and are currently looking to hire an experienced Dozer/Grader Operator. Reporting to the Site Foreman, ARCP operators are responsible for operating various pieces of heavy equipment in construction sites safely while ensuring they are producing quality workmanship.

**Requirements**:

- Minimum of 2 years experience operating a dozer and grader.
- Ability to operate machinery & produce quality work in a heavy civil construction environment.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with ability to perform routine equipment maintenance.
- Keen attention to detail.
- Effective time management skills with the ability to keep yourself on task & schedule.
- Possess a positive attitude and the ability to work with mínimal supervision.
- Solid understanding of construction, maintenance techniques & how to safely use equipment.
- Heavy Equipment Operator trade certification considered an asset.

**Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Check equipment before operating to ensure that mechanical, safety and emergency components are in good working order.
- Preparing areas with the use of the grader to ensure that all surfaces are prepped for asphalt.
- Adhere to workplace safety policies, regulation, and compliance.
- Communicate any unsafe conditions or accident/injuries immediately to the supervisor.
- Demonstrate continuous efforts to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes and work cooperatively to provide quality workmanship.
- Clean, lubricate and perform other maintenance work as required.
- Keep detailed and accurate reports and documentation.
- Maneuver trucks/heavy equipment into loading or unloading positions, follow signals from crew members as needed, check that vehicle position is correct and any special loading equipment is properly positioned.
- Operate equipment such as mobile radios and telephones to exchange necessary information to supervisors or other operators.
- Ensure that any debris caused by loading/unloading of equipment is cleaned up.
