**Rink Guard/Front-of-House**
Working collaboratively with fellow team members under the direction and supervision of the Assistant Operations Manager and the Operations Supervisor, this valuable team member will be responsible for supporting the daily operations such as attending to the front desk, maintaining order on the skating rink, and the general maintenance of the space.
A key responsibility of the position is in providing support and general teaching to new attending skaters, in addition to being comfortable with a higher engagement of guest-related hospitality operations and safe skating practices. This role requires an individual who thrives on team dynamics and can work in rotational shifts.
**Main Responsibilities**
- Core responsibility is to execute on the operational requirements of the venue and its programming or events through supporting the Operations Supervisor and the Assistant Operations Manager
- Capable of roller skating at a high proficiency level for extended lengths of time
- To share responsibility for the general upkeep of the building and safety of the people and activities therein; this may include interaction with emergency medical services
- Accepts and understands the company policies and plans, exemplifying particularly Front-of-House, Health and Safety, and Security policies
- Greet all customers/guests with an engaging attitude
- Oversee open skating and private rink rental sessions
- Prepare to receive a daily briefing of run-of-events (when needed) by leadership
- Collect and gather key contact details and information from inquiring potential buyouts for the Events Team to work off
- Timely flag items in need of repair or general housekeeping needs to the M.O.D
- Verifies and enquires on accurate information of the space and associated activities
- Resolves guest problems quickly, efficiently, and courteously
- Acts as a leader on the property, report all workplace incidents/accidents or near misses
- Ability to work flexible shifts which may include but are not limited to days, evenings, overnights, weekends, and holidays as required by management and the operations
- Learn and operate the POS system for the registration and check-in/out of guests including processing customer payments, and supporting CCTV overwatch
- Be a role model for following good, discrimination-free, skate culture
- Monitoring customers safety and making sure they are following directions
- Perform other duties as assigned and/or directed by Company management
- Ringing up sales, handing cash and credit cards payments

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
General Duties of Everyone on the Team
- Maintains an active and in good-standing First Aid/CPR ‘C’ AED certification
- Reporting any emergencies in a speedy and accurate way
- Ensure a smooth operation of Guest Services and the day-to-day operations
- Confirms information is accurate prior to actioning or inquires on next steps if unsure
- Maintains a clean, hygienic work space
- Perform all applicable opening, mid-day or closing preparation, cleaning, and maintenance duties according to the requirements of the shift worked
- Provides a safe and harassment-free work environment
- Be polite, courteous, and respectful to Guests, fellow team members, contractors, and anyone else who may enter the space
- Understands and comply with all health and safety rules, regulations, and laws.
- Participates in fire safety plan drills, safety drills, and relevant health/safety drills
- Successfully completes company recommended AODA training

**Salary**: $20.00 per hour
