Food Department Manager

The department manager should be fluent in the English language so that he/she can interact with the store and senior management teams and all employees effectively.

**Duties and Responsibilities**:

- The department manager is the ‘one in command’ for the department area. They are responsible for assuming the primary duties of the department while the store and senior management teams are away from the department area.
- Oversees the departmental operations on a daily basis
- Responsible for the efficient operation of the department and meeting departmental goals and objectives (quality control, food safety, cleaning/sanitation, etc.)
- Manages and oversees departmental employees, including supervisors, and team leads in day-to-day tasks, updating departmental information, training, scheduling, etc.
- Provides feedback to store management team on department clerk(s) progress, and disciplinary feedback on employee job performance.
- Partners with store management and human resources teams in department interview, hiring, and on-boarding processes.
- Adhere to and enforce company policies and procedures, including but not limited to health and safety
- Works with senior management and buying teams on ordering the right merchandise and products that are required for the organization. If the inventory is kept properly, the organization will function properly
- Travel may be required from time to time to different store locations Department Manager Skills and Qualifications
