Corporate Operations at the BCLDB includes our Corporate Loss Prevention and Real Estate departments. Real Estate manages all activities related to the leasing, construction, renovation, and facilities management of all new and existing LDB facilities, included head office, distribution centres, and all BC Liquor and BC Cannabis retail locations. The Corporate Loss Prevention department ensures the security of all BCLDB assets through physical security management as well as an investigative team

Under the direction of the Manager, Physical Security, the Locksmith provides the Liquor Distribution Branch (LDB) with technical security support, including the Head Office complex, four distribution centres (Burnaby, Kamloops, Delta & Richmond) as well as BC Liquor Stores and BC Cannabis Stores throughout the province. The position is responsible for supporting the installation, operation, implementation, fabrication and troubleshooting of all locksmithing services, which provides a safeguard to Branch assets, employees, contractors, customers and business partners. The LDB serves approximately 43 million customers annually, and it is within this context, the Corporate Loss Prevention Department functions as an integral facet of Branch operations, with a high degree of visibility throughout the organization.

Accountabilities
- Designing and installing LDB security locking systems to meet the specific needs of individual stores and Branch facilities using electronic panels, sensors, and security hardware. Organizes and coordinates large and small technical security system projects for all LDB facilities. Directs the work of the contract resources involved in facilities installation projects and to conduct quality assurance, including assessing the work performed.
- Installing electronic and electrical locking hardware or other security hardware.
- Installing hardware, conduit, armoured cable (BX) and construction related modifications of existing electrical and mechanical equipment relating to locking, other security systems including access control as it relates to electric strikes and magnetic locks.
- Maintaining and servicing all locking hardware, pertinent to Corporate Security service levels, to ensure operational efficiency. Equipment includes: keys, locks, safes, electric strikes and magnetic locks and mechanical security hardware. Provides safe maintenance and combination changes.
- Providing technical support in the installation, maintenance, service and trouble shooting of all locking mechanisms at the BCLDB.
- Cuts, codes and keep record for keys. Pinning of Schlage (Primus) small format IC Cores.
- Providing emergency services to trouble shoot and repair damaged and malfunctioning locking hardware both in person and by telephone.
- Analyzing the risks, threats and vulnerability from internal (e.g. theft) and external threats (e.g. fraudulent credit cards, etc.) to identify weaknesses and makes recommendations as to cost effective measures. Conducts physical surveys of stores and other government facilities. Preparing reports defining the problem and recommending cost effective measures to correct deficiencies.
- Maintaining accurate records, including vehicle operation, administrative office functions, ordering of supplies and inventory control.

Position Requirements

Education and Experience:

- Successful completion of the BC Certificate of Qualification in the trade of Locksmithing.
- Minimum five (5) years, within the last seven (7) years, experience as a locksmith in an industrial/commercial setting.

**Salary**: $67,728.87-$77,012.22 per year
