**Job Requirements**:
In this role, **MATRIX** is seeking a **SnowCat Operator** for an upcoming mining project. This role is responsible for the safe operation of a snowcat. Other duties required include:
Primary Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the safe operation of a snowcat
- Clearing of the right-of-way (ROW) & access lines
- Confirm with project Supervisor regarding the job plan/schedule to ensure that proper direction is received and carried out
- Follow maps
- Use GPS
- Set S-bar heater timer
- Ability to carry out snowcat job duties & drive service truck in a safe and efficient manner
- Inspect, maintain and repair equipment, such as fueling and greasing, and making emergency adjustments or repairs
- Responsible for representing the client’s best interest in ensuring the quality of workmanship is at a superb level
- Strict adherence to Driven Resources & the clients safety program at all times
- Solid decision making skills (including to inform consultants when the snowcat is not designed to push trees)
- Ability to troubleshoot problems independently
- Must be prepared to work at assigned locations as the workload dictates.
- Demonstrated mechanical ability
- Load/unload snowcat onto flatbed trailer
- Take direction & communicate thoroughly with Foreman & Owner
- Maintain all equipment/tools to a high standard
- Obeying all traffic & client site rules at all times
- Maintain clean fleet equipment & service truck
- Work with other field personnel and customer personnel as required
- Act in a courteous, professional manner in order to present a positive company image
- Participate in tool box talks, FLRA’s (field level hazard assessments & other safety documentation) and daily safety meetings
- Ask questions, and not to undertake a task if you are not competent to perform
**Qualifications & skills**:
- Previous experience in the mining/construction industry
- Solid decision-making skills
- Ability to troubleshoot problems independently
- Must be prepared to work at assigned locations as the workload dictates
- Demonstrated mechanical ability
