**Work Description**
Under the guidance of the Health and Safety Manager, the Health and Safety Coordinator is responsible for a variety of duties, both in the office and on work sites, in support of several of Tamarack’s health and safety initiatives.

This is a summer student position from Monday, May 1, 2023 until Friday, September 1, 2023. 37.5 hour work week.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Maintain files and records according to naming conventions, and scan files for electronic storage in order to further the organization’s paperless initiatives;
- Collect and maintain job site safety compliance inspections including hazard analysis, safe work procedures, written reports and recommendations;
- Collect and maintain records of trainings, tracking dates of completion and providing reports on outstanding completions to Health and Safety Manager;
- Assist in implementation of electronic records management system, entering pertinent information into the system as required;
- Assist in the implementation of office procedures and practices;
- Various clerical duties as required;
- Any other duties as required.

**Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities**
- A high school diploma is required for this role. Current enrollment in a post-secondary program in Health & Safety, would be preferred.
- Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously;
- Ability to meet deadlines;
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills;
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and approach situations in a diplomatic and professional manner.

**Physical/Sensory Effort/Work Environment**
- Providing service to several people, working under many simultaneous deadlines;
- Sitting or standing for long periods of time at workstation;
- Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and peripherals;
- Repetitive work.
