Library Clerk

**Job Posting**:Summer Library Clerk

Westlock Library is looking for a Library Clerk to provide outstanding customer service and join our team of dedicated staff.

**Employment Terms**

This is a temporary full-time position (30 hours/ week for 14 weeks) with a start date of May 27, 2024 and ends August 30, 2024. It includes a varied schedule, which may include some evenings and weekends. Wages are $18.00/ hour.

**Responsibilities**:

- A commitment to upholding the Canadian Federation of Library Associations’ position statements on Intellectual Freedom and Diversity and Inclusion
- Providing outstanding customer service
- Contributing positively and working effectively within a team environment
- Supporting patrons with general inquiries, computer and technology questions, document services, material location, reference questions and reader’s advisory
- Acting as Westlock Library’s ambassador within the community
- Performing all aspects of materials handling, including circulation (check-out and check-in), interlibrary loans, holds, shipping/receiving, and shelving as required

**Job Requirements**
- High School Diploma
- Effective verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
- Effective time management skills
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Physical requirements include frequent standing, walking, and bending as well as lifting library materials, reaching, pushing and pulling book carts
- Criminal Record Check/Vulnerable Sector Check.
