Skilled Labourer

Fowler Construction is seeking Skilled Labourers/Operators to safely perform specialized and knowledgeable labour, as well as safely operate heavy equipment as needed, in one of the following areas of expertise: asphalt, excavation, grading, paving, pipelaying, sewers, or water main.

**Key Duties**:

- Perform skilled labour in area of expertise such as asphalt, excavation, grading, pipelaying, paving, sewers, or water main.
- Safely operate heavy equipment as needed and ensure proper equipment maintenance.
- Execute the daily plan and work sequence, completing construction work in an effective, safety-conscious manner.
- Work with and alongside other workers with the utmost regard for safety.
- Follow direction as provided by the foreperson, lead hand, superintendent, and spotter.
- Complete tasks as directed, with attention to detail to produce a quality product.
- Operate small equipment including quick saws, plate packers, pumps, and tools etc., as needed.
- Conduct yourself in a professional and mature manner.
- All other duties as assigned by management.

**Requirements/Qualifications**:

- Experience working in an area of expertise as detailed above.
- Experience operating heavy equipment such as loaders, excavators, dozers, graders, rubber tire rollers, shuttle buggy, etc.
- Willingness to perform labour in an area of expertise as described above.
- Strong work ethic and ability to work with a team.
- Must be able to stand, lift 50 lbs., carry, bend, and reach.
- Punctual and available to work 55 hours per week.
- Maintain a valid driver’s license.

**Work Conditions**:

- Travel to various sites will be required.
- Outdoor environments in various weather conditions.
- Weekend and evening work may occasionally be required.

Schedule:

- 10 hour shift
- 12 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed

**Experience**:

- road building, water and sewer, pipelaying, or asphalt: 3 years (required)

Licence/Certification:

- Driver's license (preferred)

Ability to Commute:

- Bracebridge, ON (required)

Work Location: In person
