**The Role**

**The Responsibility**:

- Experience in Ceridian Dayforce set up/implementation to configure for optimal Payroll and HRIS use including working with Ceridian Dayforce support team in a dynamic company.
- Drives Dayforce initiatives to implement HR business support policies and procedures in line with best practices, project plans, changes to legislation, and growth/expansion initiatives.
- System maintenance and technical support. These tasks include upgrades, troubleshooting, customizing software, and testing.
- Update and maintain Payroll/HRIS system to reflect the current company and employee information.
- Perform audits, system testing, documenting processes and completing forms
- Support quality improvement initiatives to streamline, automate and document processes
- Generate monthly scheduled and ad-hoc reports within Dayforce
- Support employee groups by working collaboratively with the members of the HR and Finance departments to support all aspects of employee pay such as onboarding, position changes, grid movement, statutory leaves, sick leaves and other employment events, to ensure that they are reflected and remunerated properly.
- Coordinate and/or input, process and check bi-weekly payroll in a timely, and accurate manner and in accordance with the Company and government policies using our Ceridian Dayforce Payroll & HRIS system.
- Reconcile, prepare and submit all reports and/or remittances within the required deadlines according to standard procedures (on-line and/or paper submission) for all regulatory organizations i.e. EI, WSIB, WorkSafe BC, CSST, etc.
- Execute the year end payroll process and complete all payroll annual reconciliation returns with accuracy and within prescribed deadlines.
- Provide thoughtful research, analysis, and recommendations on our payroll and HRIS program
- Ensure compliance with applicable provincial and federal legislation
- Ensure that internal controls and audit trails are in place
- Helps lead or participates in scheduled projects that require interactions between various customers, departments, and hardware/software vendors.
- Provides input to project plans, work schedules, and critical timelines. Participates as part of a team to assemble information for capital or operating budget planning or other specifications and documents.
- Oversee and provide final review for full cycle payroll processing

**Education/Skills/Experience**:

- Ceridian Qualified Professional Program _(* This program is geared towards Ceridian customers. The tests are associated with training for client-side roles, like the Payroll Manager or Administrator _or Certification Program. _*Certification consists of passing high-stakes, scenario-based proctored exams with 60 questions. This is more for a consultant.)_
- Bachelor degree in HR related field with strong experience in HRIS or systems and payroll
- A high level of computer proficiency, especially with collection data and reporting, is a must for this position. You also need problem-solving, critical thinking, and communication skills.
