**We are seeking individuals who are available to cover the following shift**:
**A **_**minimum **_**availability of Friday to Sunday from 12:00 PM to 10:00 PM or 11:00 AM to 9:00 PM (approximately)**

The 2nd cook is responsible for preparing food, based on standardized or common recipes, for member and guest consumption, assist in the setup and dismantling of buffets, assist in the plating of foods for banquet and buffet service, assist in the putting away of food and non-food deliveries, perform sundry duties as required. Will provide timely and efficient guest service and respond quickly and professionally to members’ requests in keeping with superior member service.

- **AN OVERVIEW OF MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**_
- Prepares menu items as illustrated by the Chef or Sous Chef while upholding superior standards of food quality.
- Coordinates with the Executive Chef/Sous Chef to ensure that food production is done in a concise and timely fashion, with attention to detail and cleanliness
- Prepares and maintains fresh, full and complete mise-en-place for each shift.
- Assists in the setup, decoration and dismantling of buffet, food station and barbecue functions.
- Performs duties according to the standards of safe food handling
- Cleans work area daily and on an ongoing basis
- Participates in the proper receiving and storing of food and food-related deliveries.
- Informs the Executive Chef/Sous Chef of low inventory of food and non-food items.
- Performs special projects and other duties as assigned by the Executive Chef/Sous Chef
- While this position does not involve direct supervisory responsibility, will instruct dishwashers to complete required tasks
- Have the ability to actively listen to others and follow instructions
- Ensure that any anticipated shortages are communicated promptly to the Sous Chef or Executive Chef
- Take advantage of any training possibilities when they arise
- Encouraged to communicate and contribute new dishes and menu ideas
- Responsible for completing prep lists to hand over at the end of each shift
- **JOB SPECIFICATIONS/QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED**_
- A minimum of 2/3 years cooking experience required in a comparable F & B operation
- Training at a post-secondary culinary facility is an asset
- High School Diploma is a requirement
- Public Health Safe Food Handler certificate is required
- Ability to remain calm, focused and professional during stressful situations in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to do strenuous physical labour (e.g., lifting, pushing, and pulling heavy objects, ability to climb stairs, will be exposed in hot environment)
- Must be available for all shifts including nights, weekends and holidays
