The Opportunity
**Responsibilities**:
- Perform and record regular perimeter checks of exterior and interior site systems- Maintain and repair production equipment, structures and systems, including, but not limited to: Irrigation systems, HVAC Systems and Facility Access Systems- Respond to Maintenance requests and enquiries- Ensure all Facility equipment is in a good state of repair- Assign and close out work orders from Fiix- Report Facility issues to Supervisor and/or Manager- Troubleshoot equipment production issues- Adhere to production/maintenance/cleaning schedules- Use basic problem-solving skills to ensure smooth workflow- Set a positive example of Canopy Culture- Monitor and respond to BAS alarms during working hours and after hours- Trouble shoot mechanical issues through preestablished procedures- Always follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)- Effect and record the replacement of air filters and scent masking- Ensure scheduled maintenance of all systems- Adhere to and enforce company safety procedures- Communicate effectively with team, contractors and suppliers- Oversee fire suppression inspection schedule and contractors- Post-Harvest Duties including but not limited to the maintenance of trimming machines (Twisters) and vacuum sealer- Ensure snow removal and property maintenance schedule is followed and when required remove snow from pedestrian walkways and fire exits- Provide on-call duties and respond to emergencies as required to ensure product quality and schedules are maintained- Ability to work variable shifts as required- Other duties as assigned and when required
Experience- Problem solving skills; willingness and flexibility to foresee and overcome obstacles- Working knowledge and experience in a wide variety of maintenance tasks including basic carpentry, plumbing, electrical, pneumatics, pumps and drywall finishing work- Knowledge of safety procedures in accordance with WHIMIS, OHSA, as well as local regulations- Ability to work in a Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) compliant area. Wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as Tyvek coverall, and goggles- Ability to lift heavy objects up to 50 pounds- Strong attention to detail and accuracy- Education and/or Experience: By training, education and/or experience, employee must be able to perform the essential duties of the job. High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is preferred- Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently-
- Knowledge of irrigation and HVAC systems preferred- Knowledge of Building Automation Systems and components such as Boilers, Chillers, Pumps and Generators- Safety certifications such as: fall arrest, ladder safety, WHMIS, etc- Forklift operator’s license - Narrow Aisle Electric- Must be able to work in a stationary position as well as move about unassisted- Must be able to safely and carefully operate and use assigned equipment and machinery- Must be able to stoop, kneel, or crouch as circumstances arise during the course of a shift- Must be able to hear and converse with supervisors and other employees- Must be able to see and read small print- Must be able to work in a moderate noise level environment- Must be able to ascend/descend a step ladder while carrying up to 30 pounds of materials- Must be able to work variable shifts
