**Position Overview**:
A Polysomnography Technician, under direct supervision of a Polysomnography Technologist, the Polysomnography Coordinator, and Sleep Disorder Centre/HVADS Manager (indirect reporting relationship to Sleep Disorder Centre Medical Director):

- Performs diagnostic, therapeutic, and research Polysomnography studies and related therapies.
- Performs routine equipment care and maintenance; conducts routine inventory of supplies
- Participates in the day-to-day operations of the Sleep Disorder Centre.
- Complies with applicable laws, regulations, guidelines, and standards regarding safety and infection control issues.

**Experience**:

- Practical experience using polysomnography equipment, electro-encephalography, electrooculography, electromyography, respiratory monitoring and electrocardiography required.
- Practical experience using respiratory equipment in the treatment of sleep apnea is also required.
- Basic computer skills/knowledge is required.

**Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)**:

- A minimum of six (6) months’ experience as a Polysomnography Trainee with documented proficiency in all required competencies (Phase I and Phase II checklists) or successful completion of a polysomnography training program.
- Knowledge of basic respiratory physiology preferred.
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) training requirements for this position shall be in accordance with MHC Policy #A30-30.

**Certification/Licensure/Registration**:

- Current and valid CPR certificate is required.
