You as a Casual Dietary Aide at the Royal Ottawa Mental Health Centre will be:
Responsible for preparation and re-thermalization of meals, and therapeutic diet delivery to patients and cafeteria patrons while following applicable policies and procedures
Operating and maintaining meal preparation and service equipment used to perform day to day work in a safe and correct manner
Responsible for replenishing stock and supplies, sanitary and safe handling of food and completing nourishment labels
Maintain a clean, organized and safe working environment
Liaising with customers and co-workers in a friendly, courteous, and professional manner to ensure service satisfaction
Performing other duties as assigned or requested consistent with the job classification

Is this the right role for you?

Grade 12 education
Food Handlers Certification
Preference given to those with the FSW certificate, or those who are enrolled in the Food Services Worker Program
Experience in food service settings would be considered an asset
Knowledge of WHMIS
Knowledge of HACCP
Good English communication skills
Demonstrated knowledge of food preparation and distribution techniques
Proven ability to work well both independently and within a team
Ability to independently assess, prioritize and adjust daily duties in accordance with unit/department activity
A background check will be conducted by the Hospital upon job offer
Rate of pay is $23.64, plus 14% in lieu and 4% vacation
