Make an impact with our Cross Border Individual Tax team as an Accounting Technician. This diverse team of professionals delivers customized tax strategies within a complex and dynamic regulatory framework. As a trusted advisor, you’ll provide tax advice on domestic and foreign assignments that empowers client organizations and their employees to maintain regulatory compliance and mitigate risk.

**Responsibilities**
- Assist in the completion of U.S. and combined U.S.Canadian individual income tax return preparation for U.S. citizens living in Canada, U.S. residents working in Canada and Canadians working and investing in the U.S.
- Set up files for new clients and newly incorporated businesses
- Prepare journal entries and provide bookkeeping services
- Review legal documents such as articles of incorporation, purchase agreements and amalgamation agreements
- Identify issues and errors, investigate discrepancies and discuss with managers or engagement partners to develop resolutions
- Correspond with clients and various government agencies to address client tax compliance issues
- Assist in the preparation of correspondence, technical reports, client summaries and presentations outlining engagement findings, facts and highlights
- Work collaboratively with the client engagement team
- Maintain flexibility to travel, as necessary

**Skills and Experience**
- Post-secondary degree or certificate in accounting or another relevant field
- Experience in an accounting, customer service and/or client service environment is preferred
- Experience in financial statement analysis and preparation of tax returns is considered an asset
- Working knowledge of the Canadian Income Tax Act
- Experience working with accounting and tax software is considered an asset

The annual salary range for this position is $40,000 - $60,000. Individual compensation is commensurate with skill set, relevant experience, and education.
