Assembly Supervisor

**Main Duties and Responsibilities**
- Supervise, co-ordinate and execute scheduled activities of workers who fabricate, weld, paint, and assemble products for customers.
- Supervise production line operation in accordance with plant policies and procedures.
- Co-ordinate production startups, shutdowns and changeovers.
- Co-ordinate work activities between departments, and meet shift production goals.
- Assist Production Manager in conducting meetings; or conduct production meetings as required.
- Ensure a clean and safe work area, and oversee the safety of all employees in the plant.
- Complete shift paper work.
- Assist in production as necessary.
- Train and coach production employees in job duties, safety procedures and company policies.
- Responsible for quality control. Make adjustments as necessary during shift to produce product within specifications. Reject product outside of specifications.
- Requisition materials and supplies.
- Resolve work problems and recommend measures to improve productivity and product quality.
- Adhere to the company’s policies and procedures.
- Perform any other reasonable duties as required by management from time to time.
**Essential Qualifications**
- Completion of Post-Secondary School education or greater is required.
- Minimum 5 years of experience supervising in a manufacturing environment, with specialty in mechanical assembly.
- Excellent problem solving skills and analytical skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Organized and accurate, with a keen eye for detail.
- Motivated self-starter; able to work independently with mínimal supervision.
- Capable of working in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to interpret blue prints and shop drawings.
- Ability to identify parts numbers and types of materials.
- Ability to professionally present ideas, course of actions and recommendations.
- Knowledge of Health and Safety Policies and WHMIS.
- Ability to train and mentor workers on health and safety practices, job duties and responsibilities.
- Ability to operate lifting devices (i.e. crane, hoist or forklift).
- First Aid certification.
- Physically fit.
**Salary**: $30.00-$33.00 per hour
