If working to make a difference for patients appeals to you, then we would like to hear from you. We currently have a vacancy for a Plumber in our Maintenance Department. Our Plumbers work in accordance with our Mission, Vision and Values of Innovation, Compassion, Accountability, Respect and Excellence.

**DUTIES**
- Carries out daily, weekly, monthly and scheduled long-term maintenance functions in an efficient manner for hospital owned properties and equipment, including planning, organizing, supervising and coordinating tasks of oneself and assigned outside contractors in accordance with relevant Codes, Acts, Standards and Safety policies and procedures.
- Operates, cleans, repairs, and maintains building equipment.
- Procures and replenishes inventories of consumable stock, and keeps inventory of steam production and energy consumption.
- Maintains appropriate WHMIS labeling.
- Collects and disposes of decommissioned equipment.
- Aid in the establishment of equipment and infrastructure, maintenance programs and securing of contracts as required.
- Responds to emergency situations involving maintenance equipment. Participates in the on-call schedule.
- Adherence to all health and safety policies, procedures and provisions and the recognition and reporting of unsafe hazards and work practices
- Licensed Plumber
- Graduate of a trade or vocational program or completion of Building Operators Certificate and/or Hospital Maintenance Technician certificate an asset.
- Three years building operation and maintenance experience including areas of, but not limited to, plumbing, electrical, gas fitting, steam plant, auxiliary power generators, heating, ventilation, air conditioning, as well as, preventative maintenance, and building automation systems.
- Previous experience in a Hospital or large institution an asset.
- Relevant knowledge of the Plumbing Code and other related codes, regulations and standards.
- Demonstrated technical research, problem solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to set priorities, and organize workload, complete assigned duties within established schedule and handle emergencies effectively.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills that are customer service focused.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, give clear work direction and assign tasks
- Skilled at preventative maintenance.
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of relevant safety practices in relation to staff, patient, and environmental programs.
- Physically capable of performing all duties including heavy lifting, twisting, bending, walking and standing for pro-longed periods of time and carrying various items and weights up to 50 pounds.
- Excellent customer service skills
- Ability to maintain a co-operative working relationship with other members of the health care team
- Excellent attendance record

**Salary**: $29.41-$29.66 per hour
