Carefor Health & Community Services is in search of a Late Cook / Baker at the Carefor Mackay Centre. Carefor Mackay Centre in Pembroke is a unique, home-like, supportive environment dedicated to the care of our 60+ senior residents.

Our residence is just minutes from the Pembroke Mall, Coffee Shops and Downtown. We are close to the Pembroke Regional Hospital, local restaurants and churches.

This residence is in the heart of the Ottawa Valley and is designed to help residents feel as though they are living in a home away from home. The lounges, kitchen and dining area are the central hub of the residence with comfortable, familiar décor.

The Carefor Mackay Centre provides a level of care, compassion, friendship and love that makes this a place like no other.

As a member of Carefor Mackay Centre Team and reporting to the Dietary Supervisor, your goal as a cook is to enhance the lives of our residents by providing daily nutritious meals and snacks, and practicing good safety and sanitation measures.

**You will make an impact in the following ways**:
As a Cook, you will prepare, complete and serve daily nutritious meals and snacks for the residents of the home, taking into consideration allergies and preferences. You will be required to encourage independence of the residents by having them assist with preparation, cooking/baking and clean up duties. Always following the framework of Carefor’s policies, procedures, standards and quality & risk management.

Carefor is committed to providing quality care to its clients twenty-four (24) hours a day, seven (7) days a week. In order to accomplish this, you will be expected to be available to work every second (2nd) weekend.

**We are looking for an individual who**:
**You will need to have**:

- Cook Certification from approved College, or an acceptable combination of education and experience may also be considered
- Food Handling & Safety certificate
- WHMIS certification
- Experience with food prep, serving food, using kitchen equipment, customer service, working with the elderly, working in a similar setting.
