Manitoba Parks is looking for a qualified individual to fill the Operator 3 position at Spruce Woods Provincial Park

Conditions of Employment:

- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
- Must possess and maintain a valid Manitoba Class 3 Driver’s License with air brake endorsement.
- Must be willing and able to work statutory holidays, weekends and evenings and overtime as required as well as trvael and workin other outlying areas within the region.
- Must be physically able to perform duties of this position which may include working in outdoor conditins, occassional lifting of light and heavy items, bending, reaching, standing for long periods of time.
- Must be able to wear personnel protective equipment as/when required.
- Able to work with paints, solvents and chemicals.

Qualifications:
Essential:

- Experience operating equipment and machinery (i.e. wheel loaders 1-2 yds, tandem trucks, motor grader, bombardier with blade, snowmobiles, UTVS, skid steer, tractors, trucks, mowers, gas powered trimmers, chainsaws, and ATVs).
- Experience performing routine maintenance and repairs to grounds maintenance equipment ( tractors, mowers, gas powered trimmers, chainsaws, and ATV's).
- Experience in performing grounds maintenance
- mowing, landscaping, road work, snow clearing, ice making, trail grooming.
- Experience in performing janitorial and building maintenance duties.
- Ability to solve problems and make sound decisions.
- Experience and/or training with Workplace Safety and Health Act/Regulations and safe work practises.

Desired:

- Ability to work independently under mínimal supervision or as part of a team.
- Strong Interpersonal skills with the ability to deal effectively with staff, the general public and stakeholders.
- Effective verbal communication skills.

**Duties**:
Under the direction of the Park Works Supervisor 3 or designate, the incumbent operates and maintains equipment in the Operator 1-3 range: such ; 3 and 5 ton trucks with and without air brakes, pulling trailers, sewage trucks, snowmobiles, bi-directional tractor, ice resurfacer snow groomer for snoman trails, grader, loader, various tractors, light pickup & crew cab trucks, all terrain vehicles, mowers, sprayers, snowmobiles and other equipment as assigned. The incumbent may supervise and train junior staff as well as maintain equipmentlogs. The incumbent provides general park information to the public and performs other related duties as assigned.
