ABLE Engineering Services is a versatile, experienced, multi-disciplinary engineering firm that works on a wide range of projects. We excel in civil and structural engineering, surveying and the design of infrastructure systems for commercial, residential, governmental and industrial projects.

We are seeking a Construction Inspector to join our Engineering Department in our Chester office. This position is responsible for performing and/or inspecting quality assurance acceptance on residential structural projects and On-Site Sewage Disposal Systems. The Construction Inspector is to ensure strict adherence to design drawings or approved revisions.

Responsibilities Include:

- Prepare clear and concise field inspection reports. Summarizing contractor’s work, contract progress and inspection milestones;
- Ensure inspection tasks are completed and recorded in a prompt and accurate manner;
- Recognize when extra work needs to be done and report to the project manager;
- Ensure contractor adheres to all contract requirements, as per Contract Administrator’s direction; e.g. legal, environmental, construction standards, etc.;
- Travel to various job sites
- All other duties assigned.

Qualifications Include:

- 1-2 years of experience in a similar role considered an asset;
- Experience with GPS equipment considered an asset.
- Experience with AutoCAD considered an asset.
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing;
- Ability to organize, prioritize and schedule inspection work;
- Valid Nova Scotia’s driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
