General Laborer

Valard is Canada’s premier utility contractor, as well as head of the Valard Group of Companies and part of the Quanta Group, the largest electrical power contractor in North America. Valard has full-service capabilities for transmission, distribution, substations, foundations, telecommunications and renewable energy.

Valard is seeking General Laborer local to Manitoba.

**Requirements**:

- Assists skilled trades people and technicians as directed
- Properly vents and enters manholes
- Maintains housekeeping in the splicer work trucks, in the manhole and around the work site
- Mixes and places grout, installs rebar, sets concrete forms, finishes cement using trowel and vibrator
- Performs digging and trenching, demolition and waste site removal, loading/unloading trucks, and cleans work area
- Loading/unloading construction materials both mechanically and by hand
- Working around heavy equipment and assisting operators
- Working with hand power tools
- Taking direction from crew lead on various tasks
- Perform all other duties as assigned by supervisor

**Qualifications**:

- Ability to work in a team
- Ability to work outdoors under a variety of extreme climatic conditions
- Potential to working longer shifts may be required
- Physically fit with the ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs
- Must have a valid Drivers’s license minimum of a class 5
- Must be local to Headingly area *accommodations and LOA are not provided*
