Transload Operator

NSC Minerals is a major supplier of bulk salt in Western Canada and the Northern United States. We currently seek a dynamic individual to join the team at our Sturgeon County storage location.

Experiences working with and around railway equipment as well operate equipment such as Loader, Skid steer, and Aerial Work Platform would be considered a definite asset. Successful applicants must have a valid driver’s license and reliable means of transportation. Be willing to work irregular work weeks (including weekends) and in the later hours of the day.

Your past experience must demonstrate you are hands on individual, self-motivated and have a sound mechanical aptitude. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work as part of a team is mandatory.

**Duties include but are not limited to**:

- Loading/unloading trucks
- Scaling trucks in accordance with Alberta Transportation regulations.
- Equipment operation (wheel loader, elevated work platform, skid steer, railcar mover)
- Transferring loaded railcar product to storage sheds and/or to trucks.
- Filling 1 and/or 1.5 ton mini bulk bags for shipment.
- Routine equipment maintenance.
- Daily site up keep.
- Participate in daily safety meetings (toolbox meetings)
- Participate in monthly safety meeting
- Conduct a FLHA (field level hazard assessment) before each task
- Re-assess hazards of task when conditions change
- Wear required PPE and inspect PPE daily
- Comply with all company safety policy’s and procedures
- Engage in manual labor activity as required
- Work with direct supervision or with limited supervision
- Work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Be punctual and ready for work at scheduled shift start times
