**Summary of Duties**:
Under the direction of Manager of Advanced Education. The Indigenous Advocate Supervisor is responsible to assist with meeting the educational and cultural goals and objectives for Indigenous students’ success in School District no. 48 (SD48) while supervising the Indigenous Support Workers.

**Key Deliverables and Expectations**:
- Support families of SD48 students when requested by Management, Administration or parent/guardian
- Collaborate with support team to ensure the Indigenous students needs are fully met regarding Individual Education Plan (IEP) process and course selection
- Create and maintain Indigenous Restorative Practice overview
- Facilitate training for Pemberton School staff on Indigenous protocol in the classroom, along with Elder in residence
- Stay informed of education and cultural programs and practices as needed
- Facilitate informative sessions for parents and district staff to encourage an understanding of the different graduation pathways, navigating areas of interest on behalf of Indigenous students
- Inform and encourage families’ rights and responsibilities within the educational framework
- Work with Management to provide guidance, feedback, and daily oversight to the Indigenous Support Workers
- Perform other related duties as requested

**Experience and Attributes**:

- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Social Work or related degree, Master’s Degree an asset, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
- Previous supervisory experience preferred
- Experience attending a public post-secondary institution, an asset
- Minimum 2 years of office administration experience
- Minimum 2 years of experience supporting/coaching students
- Experience helping students/clients to develop and achieve goals
- Experience working with a First Nations population
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Data entry skills related to maintaining student records
- Knowledge, understanding or willingness to learn Statyemc Nation’s culture and history
- Criminal Record Check, Vulnerable Sector will be required
- Class 5 with a working vehicle, clean driver’s abstract
