Independent Contractor

**Overview**:
The independent contractor is tasked with picking up small packages from our Central location and delivering throughout,

Hanover, Owen Sound, Meaford, Kincardine, and Listowel region, efficiently and on-time. ASCS Deliveries is looking for Independent Contractors with a reliable vehicle (SUVs, Cargo vans smaller vehicles will be considered). The Independent Contractor should have a flexible availability, and is physically capable of carrying out approximately 100-200 deliveries per day. Ensuring and exhibiting safe driving practices at all times. The Independent Contractor should be comfortable with navigating a handheld smartphone.

**Responsibilities**:

- Carries out deliveries based on assigned route
- Loading and unloading parcels into own vehicle
- Communicate effectively with clients and team members
- Complete daily pre - and post trip vehicle inspections
- Provide exceptional customer service during interactions
- Ability to perform heavy lifting as needed

**Skills**:

- Excellent customer service and attention to detail
- Strong communication skills
- Comfortable working 8-12 hrs per day
- Time management and organizational skills
- Capable of moving and lifting heavy items
- Commercial driving experience is a plus
- Able to effectively navigate in highly congested traffic areas
- Competent using a smartphone device
- Flexible with scheduling; weekend routes will be available

**In Addition**:

- Must possess a valid a Valid G class Licence
- Clean criminal background
- Clean drivers abstract
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Posses a smartphone with a great data plan
- Previous courier experience is an asset

**Experience**:

- Delivery Driver: 1 year required but willing to train

**Licence/Certification**:

- Class G Licence Required

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent

Pay: $150.00-$400.00 per day

Expected hours: 25 - 50 per week

- Weekends as needed

**Education**:

- AEC / DEP or Skilled Trade Certificate (preferred)

**Experience**:

- delivery driving: 1 year (preferred)

- Class G Licence (required)
