Carpenter/remodeler

LPC Construction is a high-end renovation and remodeling company, with a focus on attention to detail and a comfortable experience for our clients. We’re looking to hire a full-time carpenter/remodeler in the Guelph area to work with our small team.
- Hours are 8:00-4:00 Monday-Friday, with very occasional longer days when the project demands it, but no weekend work.
- Since most of our projects are small to mid-sized renovations, duties could include everything from demolition and formwork, to trim, painting, or even restoration work on old cabinetry. We don’t expect you to have experience in everything, but the ability to learn new skills and think on your feet will be important.
- Pay is negotiable but competitive. It depends on the skills and the tools you can bring to the job, and includes a comprehensive benefits package after the probation period.

**Requirements**:

- A driver’s license and your vehicle;
- Your tools, at least a basic set but more is better;
- 2-3 years of experience in residential construction, ideally with a range of skills covering renovations and remodeling;
- We’re looking for someone with a good eye for detail, a strong work ethic, and the ability to communicate and coordinate their work around the rest of the team;
- Good people skills. Our clients often live on-site throughout the renovation, and it goes a long way to be able to answer their questions, keep them informed about the work you're doing, and just generally put them at ease.

**Responsibilities**:

- Ability to read and interpret blueprints;
- Conduct repair work and installation of doors, windows, drywall, cabinets, stairs, and other fixtures as required;
- Ability to operate tools, machines, and other equipment;
- Ability to stand for prolonged periods, climb, pull, and lift heavy objects.
