This is your opportunity to join Flatiron, an industry-leading organization at the forefront of developing innovative solutions to build critical infrastrucutre projects. In this role, you will leverage your past experience on major construction projects to manage the project controls function for multiple projects in Flatiron's Canadian Division. This includes prime contract management, scheduling, cost control and contract change management.

This position is based in our Richmond, BC office, with occassional site travel required.
- Reviews and analyzes contract management records to provide technical advice or project control guidance.
- Oversees cost controls reporting and reconciliation of project cost reporting for one District or Mega Project and provides District or Project reporting to Project Controls Director for Division level reports.
- Oversees scheduling process and support for District or Mega Project, including bid phase and project schedule creation, monthly reporting and schedule update,
- Supports integration of Company systems to track, monitor and control costs or schedule. Ensures accurate training and utilization of approved systems for project document control and reporting.
- Performs regular project reviews and monitors the job cost report against key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Perform additional assignments per management’s direction.
- Coordinates with Division Claims/Contract Manager in tracking and monitoring change order and claims preparation and resolution
- Manages tracking activities around unsecured revenue and project contingencies.
- Manages tracking of over/under billing to monitor and control project cash flow.
- Assists with resource and cost loading to the schedule, including labor projections, equipment and material projections, and productivity trend reporting to accurately forecast project costs and project financial outcome.
- Assists project close out procedures by validating final revenue prior to final bill submission.
- Maintains knowledge of Company’s values and strategic plan.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field required.
- 7+ years’ experience in construction engineering, project management or project controls required.
- Experience with complex scheduling and cost control processes required.
- Knowledge of construction contract agreements and change order processes required.
- Proven written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of accounting principles, including construction accounting, required.
- Proven leadership and influential skills. Able to effectively work and communicate with all levels of the company.
- Able to identify cost reduction strategies in schedule, quantities or contract specifications that align with project budget and design specification requirements. Delegation and communication skills required. Able to develop or refine a company-wide program and clearly communicate expectations and business value to all levels of the business.
