Working with the Subsampling and Planting Supervisor, the Sample Entry Technician will organize incoming seed samples, enter samples into the database and provide support to the lab accordingly.

**What will you do?**

**Key Responsibility 1: Occupational Health and Safety**
- Demonstrate a strong commitment and adherence to 20/20 Seed Labs Inc OHS Safety program by self and team members.
- Responsible for following all safety policies, protocols, and procedures, and ensure a safe working environment for all team members.

**Key Responsibility 2: General Responsibilities**

This role is accountable for the following for the following responsibilities:

- Receive samples from courier or mail
- Organize samples according to type customer and priority
- Filing sample bags into buckets when testing is complete
- Conduct lab testing such as moisture, green seed, etc.
- Client services and administrative support as required

Responsible for using the LMS system for the following:

- Create samples in LMS database
- Change lot numbers, creating charge back samples, adding tests, etc. as needed
- Entering all data into LMS system as required

Responsible for, upon receipt, scanning receiving documents and distributing them as needed

**Key Responsibility 3: Administration Duties**
- Responsible for answering reception calls when required.

Providing support in the following areas when required:

- Sample preparation department
- Assisting in planting when required
- Shipping and receiving as required.
- Greet customers at the door when required.
- Receive customer drop off samples when required.
- Other duties as required.

**What do you need to succeed?**
- High School Diploma
- A minimum of 1-2 years in the industry.
- Basic understanding of plant identification, multiplication, harvesting, conditioning storage, grading, labeling and sale of pedigreed seed as it relates to field operations is preferred but not required.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of environmental and chemical safety procedures.
- Commitment to safety, quality, and the environment.
- Ability to foster and maintain trusting and dependable working relationships.
- Ability to take initiative and work independently on individual assigned tasks, as well as ability to work in a team environment.
- Demonstrated attention to detail and the ability to work quickly while maintaining a high degree of quality and accuracy.
- Knowledge of laboratory operations, equipment, software and technology.
- Proficient computer skills and ability to work with Microsoft Office suite of business programs and CFIA computer systems.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $19.00-$25.00 per hour
