**Technician, Product Preparation - Days**

**The Product Preparation Technician is responsible for performing and recording the physical measurements for the cigarettes and/or other tobacco related product prior testing. Completion of Quality released documents relevant to the project is also required. The Product Preparation Technician is responsible to receive the Tobacco Product and /or Biological Fluids, to perform and record the Physical Measurements for the cigarettes/cigars, to prepare the cigarettes for testing (marking, blocking, making etc), to pull out the product in the appropriate controlled environment rooms (CER),to sign out the cigarette/Whole Tobacco and filter pads, to count the cigarettes during testing and to rebagg the product after the testing is done according to test the methods/Sops. The Product Preparation Technician is responsible for preparing Whole Tobacco samples (ie. cut open from package, grinding using top grinder, sorting, bagging, completing documentation and proper storing) prior to analytical testing according to test method. After the project is reported to the client the Product Preparation Technician is responsible to inventory the product/biological fluids left and after the storage period end to discard and dispose them. As this is the first stage of the testing process, accuracy is crucial, as errors at this stage will be carried throughout the entire testing process. Restricted access for Technicians, (Sample Generation/Sample Preparation) - responsibilities of the Product Preparation Technician to restrict access to the CER4 and Product Prep Storage Room as well as working in the various CER, to minimize traffic for control purposes and to control temperature and humidity of the CER.**:
**The Product Preparation Technician is responsible for recording the temperature, humidity and cigarettes weight according to the SOPs and for reporting any problems with the system or otherwise to the appropriate individuals.**:
**Primary responsibilities of the job**:

- Mark, block and pull the cigarettes according to the Pull Sheets and the RPTS Pull Sheets
- Sign off the product, count and record daily the cigarettes during smoking
- Store and inventory the product after the project is reported
- Destroy and discard the product according to the test method
- Record the physical measurements of cigarettes
- Prepare Whole Tobacco sample prior analytical testing (as required)
- Re-bag the cigarettes after the testing is done
- The employee shall implement the Laboratory Quality Policy and perform their duties in accordance to existing project specific requirements, current Test Methods, study plans and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
- Compliance to Health & Safety policies and procedures and wear required Personal Protective equipment at all times

**Minimum Qualifications**:

- Minimum High school education or equivalent experience
- 1-2 years’ experience working with fine motor skills, preferred
- Must understand procedures after reading the appropriate SOP(s) and/or Test Methods
- Experience working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment is preferred
- Previous organization responsibilities, such as maintaining a clean work station (including proper storing of materials and equipment)
- Prioritize to remain efficient
- Experience working as part of a team
