**About Us**:Youth Hoops Basketball Academy is committed to nurturing the athletic, personal, and social development of young basketball players in Edmonton. Our mission is to foster a love for the game while teaching the core values of teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship. We offer programs for various age groups and skill levels, with a focus on long-term athlete development.

**Position Overview**:We are seeking passionate and motivated Basketball Coaches to join our team. As a coach at Youth Hoops Basketball Academy, you will have the opportunity to work with youth athletes from beginner to advanced levels, guiding them through skill development, team strategies, and game play.

**Responsibilities**:

- Plan and lead practice sessions for players of varying skill levels (Fall, Winter, Spring, and Summer sessions).
- Create a positive, inclusive, and encouraging environment for all players.
- Teach basketball fundamentals, techniques, and strategies that improve individual and team performance.
- Provide constructive feedback to players and help them develop their skills and confidence on the court.
- Manage team dynamics and foster strong communication and collaboration among players.
- Communicate regularly with youth regarding player progress
- Participate in regular coach debriefs and provide feedback to improve the program.
- Promote Youth Hoops programs in the community and encourage athlete participation.
- Ensure a safe and structured learning environment that supports players’ personal growth and teamwork.

**Qualifications**:

- Prior basketball coaching or playing experience at the high school, club, or college level.
- Strong knowledge of basketball rules, tactics, and player development.
- Ability to work with diverse groups of children and maintain a positive attitude.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in planning practices and games.
- Must pass criminal record and child intervention checks.
- Availability during evenings and weekends.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive relationships.
- Passionate about youth sports and mentoring young athletes.

**Preferred Qualifications**:

- Experience in youth sports coaching or working with kids and teens.
- First Aid and CPR certification.
