Hatch’s hydrometallurgy group is a multidisciplinary team of experienced professionals with in-depth knowledge of hydrometallurgical plants and processes across a wide range of commodities. Hatch has assisted many companies in the development of complex, novel flowsheets that bolster the business case.

Our team provides process and technical consulting, project implementation, operations assistance and safety review, custom design of unit operations and technologies to benefit operations.

We manage our clients’ entire project lifecycle from studies to building assets, operating the assets, and developing efficiencies.

**Title: Mechanical Engineering New Grad - Hydrometallurgy Group - Mississauga Office**

**Position Summary**:
Hatch is seeking a Mechanical Engineering new grad with interest in Mechanical and Piping system design within the Hydrometallurgy Practice. Reporting to the Practice Lead, you will support projects globally working from the Mississauga office with opportunities to work in other Hatch offices and at project job sites.

**Responsibilities**:

- Support the development of Hatch Technology by taking part in detailed design of custom equipment
- Work collaboratively to share the results of your work with senior members of the practice and / or other Hatch groups
- Prepare equipment specification packages, construction work packages, or piping calculation reports, to be checked by senior colleagues and used to support hydromet projects
- Become knowledgeable of various mechanical equipment used in hydromet processes, analytical software and tools, piping systems and specifications
- Participate in office and site safety training and inductions as needed to support office and site activities
- Perform field verification and provide field support during construction
- Willingness and ability to travel and work in other Hatch offices or project work sites (including remote sites) as needs and opportunities arise

**Education and Experience**:

- Must be recently graduated, with a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Excel academically while being actively involved in extra-curricular and/or volunteer activities at school or in the community
- Preferred academic courses include: Thermodynamics, Fluid Mechanics, Machine Design and Solid Mechanics
- Previous relevant co-op and summer work terms or internships in Mechanical or Piping engineering is an asset
- Academic or work experience with Mechanical software AFT Fathom, Ansys, Sidewinder, MathCAD, and Bentley MicroStation CAD software is an asset
