**DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**:
The Supervisor, Laboratory reports to the Laboratory Manager and is responsible for: ensuring laboratory services are delivered with high quality, safety and consistently on a daily basis; supervising team members to services that are patient-centered, timely and efficient; enabling team members to coordinate and integrate services and encouraging ongoing performance improvement and maximizing the use of available resources to facilitate efficient specimen throughput and service excellence. This position will be based out of the Ajax Pickering Hospital.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- A healthcare professional with a Baccalaureate degree in a health-related discipline, or equivalent, and recent relevant supervisory experience (minimum 2 years);
- Current registration (in good standing) with the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Ontario (CMLTO);
- Proven knowledge of Core laboratory required;
- Significant recent experience as a regulated health care professional in a Laboratory (of which 1-2 years of consistent development in a leadership capacity);
- Proven knowledge of and ability to work with Collective Agreements and Labour Relations issues;
- Proven time management, prioritization and organizational skills;
- Demonstrated ability to provide a customer focused approach to service delivery and monitoring and documenting quality improvement and job performance;
- Effective team building skills with demonstrated experience and ability in coaching and motivating staff;
- Effective interpersonal, communication and presentation skills;
- Demonstrated ability to multi-task, problem solve with proven critical and creative thinking skills;
- Well developed negotiation and conflict management/resolution skills;
- Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to Lakeridge Health's comprehensive safety programs and practices including staff, patient and environmental safety and participation in regular in-service education in this area; and
- Proven attendance with the capability of maintaining this same standard.
