- 1. Provide one-to-one or group support to students through the following tutoring modes: online, drop-in, appointment-based, or workshop.
2. Provide support to students in specialty math, statistics and physics related courses for several programs including the technologies, trades, and engineering programs in Statistics, Calculus, and Math/Physics related courses (with the possibility of other courses the successful applicant is proficient in).
3. Assist Students with learning success skills and strategies in the online or face-to-face environment.
4. Assist in identification of study resources appropriate to support specific course content and share with students to improve their individual learning habits.
5. Maintain a positive learning environment while assisting students in building their confidence, knowledge, and abilities in their studies.
6. In consultation with Learning Services Instructors, seek any clarification needed from program instructors to meet course expectations.
7. In consultation with the Learning Services and/or program instructor(s), be reflective of and responsive to accommodation of diverse learning needs, including equity groups and English language learners, through the use of appropriate instructional methodologies.
8. Provide support to Learning Services instructors as directed which includes, but is not limited to, recording and maintaining quantitative records; and researching and collecting student friendly support and reference materials.
9. Work cooperatively in an interdependent team environment
10. Participate in mentorship and training sessions.
11. Pursue professional development opportunities to keep current with employer and educational requirements.

- QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND EXPERIENCE**Specific Accountabilities**

**Required Qualifications, Skills and Abilities (QSA)**
- 1. Grade 12 or equivalent.
2. Must have completed university level Calculus 1 and 2; university level General Physics 1 and 2; and university level Introductory Statistics or equivalent courses recently with a grade of at least 75% or an equivalent combination of experience and education.
3. Minimum of 6 months’ experience in the last 2 years tutoring in at least one of the above courses.
4. Minimum of 6 months’ experience in the last 2 years as a tutor in an online learning environment.
5. Effective oral and written communication skills.
6. Effective interpersonal skills.
7. Excellent organizational skills.
8. Ability to function as team member in an ever-changing environment.
