**Intake Coordinator**

The First Nations of Northern Manitoba Child and Family Services Authority (Northern Authority) is responsible for administering and providing for the delivery of child and family services (CFS) to twenty-seven First Nation communities through seven mandated First Nations CFS agencies.

**Responsibilities**:
Under the supervision and direction of the Issues Management Manager, the Intake Coordinator provides consultation and expert advice to agency staff on a comprehensive range of case management activities; works with agencies and First Nations communities to develop Authority specific, culturally based standards related to services to families, children and communities, works with agency staff and local CFS committees to ensure the provision of quality services consistent with standards and policies.

Performs organizational and administrative duties as related to the role of Intake Coordinator such as:

- Evaluates and assesses incoming information and ensures follow up and tracking of information,
- Maintains a central data system of incoming information and the resolution of that information, consults with managers,
- And assigns intakes to various departments based on their assessment.

Qualifications:

- MSW or BSW with at least five years of case management experience in First Nations child and family services. A related post-secondary degree with an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Excellent understanding of _The Child and Family Services Act_ and _The Child and Family Services Authorities Act_ as well as provincial CFS standards.
- Must be a collaborative, flexible team player who is challenged by working in a fast-paced environment.
- Superior problem-solving skills and capacity to work independently.
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills (written & verbal) are essential.
- Ability to speak Cree, Dene and/or Oji-Cree is a definite asset.

**Conditions of Employment**:

- Provide a satisfactory criminal records check, child abuse registry check and prior contact check prior to commencing employment.
- Valid Manitoba Driver’s Licence and access to a vehicle.
- Travel to northern Manitoba communities may be required

**Asset**:

- Working knowledge of northern First Nation communities.
- Ability to speak Cree, Dene and/or Oji-Cree.
