We currently have a vacancy for a part-time Diagnostic Imaging Clerk in our Diagnostic Imaging Department. The role of the Diagnostic Imaging Clerk is to support the entire Diagnostic Imaging team in their goal to provide the best possible patient care at West Haldimand General Hospital. Responsibilities will vary from working directly with patients to ensuring patient scheduling, preparation, registration and requisition management is accurate and complete

DUTIES

1. DI department clerical functions (includes X-Ray, Ultrasound, Mammography, Breast screening, Holters and ECG’s) patient reception, registration and booking.

2. DI requisition management, including but not limited to scheduling, patient screening, profiling and retrieving previous exams and preparation for prioritization.

3. Telephone reception for DI, including all patient and physician requests.

4. Coordinates internal and external communication - acts as a liaison for other departments, community agencies, referral sources and other health care team members.

5. Responsible for all activities related to the Ontario Breast Screening Program.

6. Clerical duties including photocopying, filing, distributing departmental mail and distributing signed reports to appropriate physicians

7. Monitor orders and stock clerical supplies as needed.

8. Maintaining filling space and assisting in purging of film retrieval as needed.

9. Performing any other duties as assigned.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

1. Minimum Level One Medical Terminology. Medical Office Administration Diploma is preferred.

2. Minimum of one (1) year clerical experience in a health care setting.

3. Proficient in MS Windows, Outlook, Word, Meditech Magic, Meditech ITS.

4. Current experience with OBSP, ICMS software is an asset.

5. Demonstrates ability to accept assignments, delegation, requests and follow instructions.

6. Exemplary telephone manner is mandatory.

7. Ability to respect and maintain confidentiality.

8. Demonstrated ability and commitment to providing outstanding customer focused patient care is required.

9. Demonstrated ability to plan, organize and prioritize in an environment with competing priorities is essential.

10. Past performance and attendance will be considered as part of the selection process.

**Job Type**: Part-time

Pay: $21.65-$23.28 per hour
