**Legal Counsel, Whistleblower Program**

- _**Job Summary**

Are you looking for an exciting new challenge? As a member of the Commission’s Enforcement team reporting to the Deputy Director, the Legal Counsel, Whistleblower Program will perform an important role helping develop, implement and administer the Commission’s new whistleblower program.

***Main Tasks**

Your responsibilities will include:

- developing and maintaining policies, practices and procedures for the Commission's new whistleblower program- assisting with the development of external messaging and communications explaining and promoting the Commission’s new whistleblower program- assisting with the development of document and case management software for the Commission’s whistleblower program- assessing and handling whistleblowing tips and maintaining relationships and communications with whistleblowers- making recommendations for award payments- making recommendations on anti-reprisal measures- helping prepare and deliver reports and presentations on the whistleblower program- advising on general matters related to the whistleblower program.***Qualifications**

Your qualifications include:

- LL.B or J.D. and membership in the Law Society of British Columbia (or eligible for membership)- Minimum of three years' experience practicing law- An in-depth knowledge of British Columbia securities regulation, particularly enforcement and investigations- An understanding of employment law and criminal law- The ability to work collaboratively in collegial situations- Excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills, ability to manage confidential information, organized, detailed and the ability to think creatively.
