**Terms of Employment**: 42.5 hours per week, Full-time, Monday - Friday (7:30 am - 4:30 pm)

**Location**: Our head office is located in Guelph, and the ability to travel to various construction sites within Guelph Wellington County is required.

**The Opportunity**

Habitat GW constructs our homes using a varied model of subcontractors, vendors, staff and volunteers. This manner of construction requires an individual who can effectively manage these broad range of workers.

Our current product line mainly consists of stacked town houses. Depending on the size of the development, sites are typically active for between 1 and 3 years. We're seeking an experienced individual in the construction sector to lend their skills and make a difference in their local community.

**Your Impact**
- Act as a Habitat GW ambassador with all entities on site
- Supervise and coordinate all daily activities for subcontractors and vendors
- Develop and manage construction schedules in conjunction with the build team
- Oversee cost control at the site level through enforcement of subcontractor scope of work agreements and management of additional costs
- Monitor and enforce quality standards for all site construction activity
- Monitor and certify subcontractor contract progress via completion slips
- Complete and submit daily logs and safety checks for onsite construction activity to Build Director
- Coordinate and manage all inspections with 3rd party inspectors, project consultants, building inspectors and authorities having jurisdiction
- Manage trade coordination meetings
- Supervise and coordinate on-site volunteers in conjunction with the build team volunteer crew leads while assigning specific tasks, tools, materials, and clean-up
- Coordinate on-site material acquisition and use of products
- Obtain quotes and issue purchase orders with management team for material and services needed in accordance with company procurement policies, when required
- Lead in the teaching, and coaching of volunteers on safety protocols, appropriate tool usage and tasks
- Lead build project safety orientation including Health & Safety on-site due diligence monitoring, participation in the site JHSC, leading toolbox talks, and resulting disciplinary actions where required
- Record and maintain accident / incident reports for WSIB and Habitat Canada to meet regulatory compliance requirements
- Provide on-going and timely communication with the Project/Volunteer Coordinators for resourcing and feedback
- Maintain accurate and up to date project documentation in conjunction with management team
- Attend training sessions or seminars pertinent to this position
- Additional accountabilities for duties and activities as assigned by the Director, Build
- Participate in PDI inspections, TARION reporting and deficiency resolution

**What You Bring**
- A minimum of 3 years’ supervision experience in residential low to mid rise construction
- Experience working on stacked or townhouse construction is considered an asset
- A construction related degree or equivalent work experience is required
- Understanding of OBC 2012 part 9, NBC, WHMIS, OHSA and Tarion
- General knowledge of civil work, site servicing, foundation, carpentry, roofing, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, masonry, drywall and finishing construction techniques/standards
- Sound judgment and prioritization skills
- Strong leadership and effective communication skills
- High attention to detail
- Resident of Ontario who holds a valid drivers license with access to a reliable vehicle

**Skills**
- Ability to work with skilled and non-skilled volunteers, contractors, trades and HFH stakeholders
- Ability to read civil, mechanical, electrical, structural and architectural drawings and specifications
- Strong understanding of construction administration processes including shop drawings, RFI’s, and change notices
- Ability to oversee a project from excavation through to final completion
- Ability to be efficient and constantly working to improve cost savings strategies
