**A day in the life**:
3 Month minimum internships available for students of civil or structural engineering with an interest in port and marine engineering.
- Assist with project-related tasks including field work, inspections of structures, structural design, civil and structural construction supervision, report writing and
- Assist with preparation of technical documents (e.g. reports, drawings, specifications) documenting engineering and environmental investigations, results, and analyses;
- Under the direction of senior staff, implement state-of-the-art coastal engineering methods to address problems related to natural coastal hazards (e.g. flooding, erosion, sedimentation) and human interactions (e.g. spills, coastal structures, dredging and beneficial use, materials management) in the context of climate change and variability;
- Conduct field work involving site visits, data collection and condition inspection of coastal and harbour structures;
- Complete coastal engineering calculations and analyses in support of planning and design of traditional coastal protection structures and nature-based solutions, port and harbour facilities, municipal and transportation infrastructure;
- Engage and interact with other team members in a multi-disciplinary team.

***What you'll bring to WSP...**:

- Currently Studying a University degree in civil or structural engineering;
- An interest in marine structures and ports;
- Potential for Professional registration as an Engineer-in-Training in Canada;
- Proven experience in common engineering software such as AutoCAD and common structural analysis software a benefit;
- Proven experience in structural engineering calculations and analyses;
