**Job Summary**:
As a Swing Announcer & News Reporter for the GOAT in Lloydminster, you will play a dynamic role encompassing both on-air entertainment and news reporting responsibilities. Reporting to the Senior Reporter and Program Director, you will be a versatile team member contributing to both the station's programming and news coverage.

**Responsibilities**:

- Be a part of the community; live, work and play in the market/community
- Hosting on-air shifts as a Swing Announcer, engaging with the audience, and preparing compelling content for broadcast.
- Developing creative promotions to enhance listener engagement and community involvement.
- Voice tracking shifts as needed for seamless programming continuity.
- Maintaining an active presence on social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube, fostering audience interaction and expanding the station's digital reach.
- Recording voiceovers for commercials and promotional materials for the GOAT and other Vista properties.
- Serving as a community liaison for the station, representing the GOAT at local events and fostering connections within the Lloydminster and neighboring communities.
- Hosting on-location broadcasts as assigned, providing live coverage of community events and breaking news.
- Collaborating with the news team to gather, verify, and report news stories across various beats including crime, politics, environment, social justice, business, and community events.
- Conducting interviews with newsmakers and sources, both in-studio and in the field.
- Writing and updating news stories for broadcast and online platforms, including the station website.
- Managing and optimizing social media channels to promote news content, engage with listeners, and build audience relationships.
- Assisting with general office duties and contributing to the overall success of the station.
- Adapting to evolving responsibilities and schedule requirements as dictated by business needs.
- Collaborate with other news staff and departments within the company

**Qualifications**:

- A minimum of 2 years of on-air hosting experience, preferably in a small market environment.
- Post-secondary broadcast training or a degree in journalism, communications, or a related field.
- Comprehensive knowledge or experience working in a small market, with specific familiarity with the Lloydminster communities considered an asset.
- Strong writing, research, and reporting skills with a passion for news and current events.
- Ability to work independently and under tight deadlines while maintaining excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in digital media and social media platforms, utilizing them effectively to enhance news coverage and audience engagement.
- Flexibility to work variable hours, including weekends and holidays, and a valid driver's license with access to a reliable vehicle for on-location reporting.
