**Education**:
I. Minimum High School diploma or GED

II. College diploma in business or related field

**Experience**:
III. 3-5 years managing in a giftware or other fast paced retail environment

IV. Previous experience managing diverse teams of individuals

V. Purchasing and merchandising inventory

VI. Working with POS (point of sale) equipment

VII. Excellent computer skills and a thorough working knowledge of Microsoft Office products

**Competencies**:
VIII. Excellent communication skills (verbal & written)

IX. Highly organized with strong attention to detail

X. Outgoing personality and be comfortable communicating will all stakeholders.

XI. Excellent client relationship and customer service skills

XII. Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, coach and develop direct reports during times of change and shifting priorities

XIII. Proven ability to promote and market businesses through appropriate pricing and inventory control

XIV. Proficiency with Microsoft Office products

XV. Proficiency with social media products

XVI. Strong financial management skills, cash handling and basic accounting

XVII. Demonstrated loss prevention awareness

XVIII. Ability to maintain composure under high pressure or stressful conditions while effectively supporting multiple competing priorities

Responsible for the profitability and overall operations of Victoria’s Gift Shop

**Communication**:

- Effectively communicate and implement directives, policy and procedures with staff and volunteers
- Maintain a positive working relationship with suppliers, salespeople, volunteers, staff, Team RVH and other customers.
- Assign staff and volunteer duties and assignments
- Ensure staff and volunteers provide exemplary customer service and assist when required

**Staffing**:

- Ensure scheduling of staff and volunteers to meet the needs of the business
- Hire and onboard staff, with oversight from the Director of Operations
- Conduct regular performance reviews in conjunction with the Director of Operations
- Ensure appropriate and timely training of staff and volunteers regarding operational standards

**Inventory**:

- Maintains appropriate inventory of products and supplies
- Ensure proper mix of merchandise to maximize profitability of and meet target

**Health & Safety**:

- Ensures RVH and Auxiliary policies and procedures are followed by staff and volunteers
- Ensures all staff are up to date with certifications and renewals ie: WHIMIS, AODA

**Financial Responsibilities**:

- Ensure proper cash controls and auditing to protect assets of Auxiliary
- Ensure daily deposits are balanced and reports any discrepancies to the Director of Operations
- Ensure appropriate cash and coin floats are available and maintained
- Complete accurate and timely reports as requested
- **POS System Responsibilities**:

- Site Administrator of the POS system
- Ensure the POS is being utilized to its maximum potential
- Maintain and implement all upgrades to existing POS
- Maintain accurate inventory in POS

Adhere to Occupational Health & Safety responsibilities under Section 28 of the Occupational Health and Safety Act including:
a) Work in compliance with the provisions of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and the regulations;
b) Use or wear the equipment, protective devices or clothing that the worker’s employer requires to be used or worn;
c) Report to his/her supervisor the absence of or defect in any equipment or protective device of which the worker is aware and which may endanger himself, herself or another worker; and

d) Report to his/her supervisor any contravention of the Occupational Health and Safety Act or the regulations or the existence of any hazard of which he/she knows.

Participate in a culture of safety which encourages prevention, reduces errors and safeguards team RVH from harm.

Supervises all staff and volunteers of Victoria’s Gift Shop

Internal: All members of team RVH

External: Patients, visitors and vendor partners

Standing for long periods of time, walking, bending and lifting heavy boxes

Store and hospital environment

Days, evenings and weekends as necessary to meet demands of business

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $52,500.00 per year
