**About Al Huda Elementary School** **(AHES)**: AHES is a non-profit, Islamic private school established in Mississauga, ON in 2008. We offer a fully integrated educational program from Casa to Grade 8, combining authentic, faith-based knowledge and values with the Ontario Elementary Curriculum under the supervision of an experienced leadership team. In addition to a strong literacy and numeracy program, AHES features a fully developed Montessori program, a STEAM room, several school committees, and clubs to further enrich the student’s learning experience within a custom-built school campus.

**Roles & Responsibilities**:

- Prepare and teach lessons according to the guidelines set in the Ontario Curriculum that promote the progress of students
- Find interactive ways and utilize a variety of teaching methods to create differentiated opportunities for all learners
- Assess and record the development and progress of students by issuing grades, progress reports, and report cards
- Manage the classroom to ensure positive behaviour
- Communicate, cooperate, and consult with school staff as well as parents/guardians to serve the best interests of students
- Attend all staff meetings

**Qualification & Requirements**:

- Undergraduate or master’s degree in education required, OCT and/or other teaching certifications highly desired
- Proven record of previous teaching experience at Junior/Intermediate grade levels (Gr. 5-8)
- Sound knowledge of Islamic studies and Islamic values
- Knowledge of the current Ontario Elementary Curriculum
- Strong written and oral English communication skills
- Thorough knowledge of best practices and ability to adhere to school procedures and policies
- Effective classroom management and organizational skills that lead to a positive learning environment
- Excellent leadership skills that result in effective role modelling
- Creative, positive, and energetic demeanor
- Ability to pass a background screening

**Pay and Benefits**:
Remuneration for this will be commensurate to experience and qualifications. AHES offers additional benefits to full-time staff such as PD credits, access to AHES’s health plan and more.
