**1.**:
The Lead Pastor will provide general spiritual oversight and overall executive and pastoral leadership, who will lead its congregation so that they will fulfill their mission and purpose as the Body of Christ. The Lead
Pastor works collaboratively with the Board of Directors (BOARD) and the church staff team.

The primary purpose of this role includes providing spiritual leadership through bible-based preaching and teaching; creating and supporting broad based evangelism to our surrounding community and world missions; working with the board in establishing and implementing vision of the church; equipping the congregation for the various works of ministry in partnership with church leadership and other volunteers.

**2. QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Experience: Demonstrated history of faithful ministry experience (5 years minimum preferred), including successful leader of multiple staff within a growing church.
- Credentialed and ordained by the Pentecostal Assemblies of Canada (PAOC).
- Called to serve by the Board of Bethel Pentecostal Church and appointed to this local church by the Western Ontario District Superintendent of the Pentecostal Assemblies of Canada.
- Must be a legal resident of Canada at the time of employment by Bethel Pentecostal Church.

- Demonstrates a clear commitment and personal loyalty to Jesus Christ.
- Exhibits consistent spiritual and moral character and lifestyle, and the biblical leadership qualifications described in I Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:5-9 and to ensure that his or her lifestyle does not evidence unethical or immoral conduct or behaviour that is unbecoming of a Christian contrary to Biblical principles.
- Known as a highly relational and collaborative Lead Pastor who will have a shepherd’s heart for Bethel Pentecostal Church and a passion for what makes the Church and our surrounding community unique.
- Agrees with and upholds the Statement of Faith, By-Laws, and Position Statements of Bethel Pentecostal Church and the PAOC.
- Established track record of strong biblical preaching, with a mature understanding of the Scripture, that inspires people into a deeper and closer relationship with Christ.
- Demonstrates success leading multiple staff within a growing local church.

- Capable of effective delegation, leadership development and positive interpersonal relationships.

**4. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Collaboratively initiate and develop vision for the overall direction of the church, working closely with the Board and engagement of the congregation. Communicate the vision with the objective of motivating the church family to commit to the vision.
- Set the spiritual tone of the church through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
- Preach and teach the Word of God in a sensitive and relevant manner with the study and preparation necessary to cultivate effective evangelism and discipleship.
- Direct and watch over the various collective ministries and maintain the biblical and doctrinal integrity of the church.
- Provide the major preaching/teaching voice for the church, giving the necessary time in prayer and preparation in order to be an effective, Godly communicator of Biblical truth in a culturally relevant manner that will inspire transformational change.
- May assign, as needed, preaching to other staff pastors, guest speakers, and international workers.
- Provide overall leadership for Sunday worship services and special services of the church.
- Lead the church staff (pastoral and administrative) in planning, administering, and evaluating their ministry leadership and activities in order to fulfill the specific purposes of their ministries in alignment with the overall Church Mission and Vision.
- Lead regular staff meeting for prayer, planning, and equipping and progress reports.
- Ensure that the ministry focus, job description and performance of the church staff is supported with healthy supervision and review, including an annual performance review for each staff member.
- Provide for systematic mentoring and coaching of the pastoral staff.
- Serve as the key representative of the church staff to the Board and vice-versa.
- Work alongside the Church Board in the development and maintenance of annual ministry goals and objectives, and act as the key implementation champion for these strategic plans.
- Support, supervise, manage, and evaluate, in conjunction with the Church Board, the church leadership and staff.
