Hörmann (formerly TNR Industrial Doors) is a well-established manufacturer of high-performance industrial doors in Barrie for 20 years, we are located in a central easily accessible location right off highway 400. We are the world leader in high performance rubber doors with a global customer base.

We are looking for an IT Support Technician to provide technical support to our team in an efficient and accurate manner, solving basic technical problems and providing support for all assigned areas. Using their technical skills, the incumbent will handle problem solving for Level 1 and some Level 2 issues.

As IT Support Technician, you will be responsible for:

- Gathering information from the user, diagnoses the issue, and fixes or escalates the issue to another member of IT.
- Troubleshooting hardware and software issues in person, remotely or by phone.
- Supporting and troubleshooting issues with Avaya phone system.
- Reviewing and resolving helpdesk requests.
- Setting up computers and printers for employees.
- Documenting and maintaining the IT inventory for all IT equipment at the location.
- Maintaining network infrastructure ensuring user requirements and demands are being met.
- Assisting with the installation of new hardware and software and provides technical support and training to employees on new or changed equipment/software.
- Installing and maintaining servers and switches with guidance from other IT staff.
- Monitoring daily back-ups to ensure they are complete.
- Developing written technical standards, policies and procedures to ensure smooth integration of computer technology with, and in support of, other aspects of the organization’s operations. Periodically peforms other duties as assigned or required.
- Qualifications: _
- Post secondary education in related field required
- Experience providing IT support in a manufacturing environment preferred
- Experience with backup software and troubleshooting
- Experience working on and supporting Microsoft Office products Minimum 2 years experience working with various software and hardware types
- Excellent IT and communication skills
- Able to create or review IT policies and technical documents
- Able to meet deadlines and manage stress effectively in high pressure situations
- Strong sense of discretion and confidentiality
- Understanding of IT principles and ability to communicate technical concepts effectively to a varied audience
- Solid understanding of how-to best safeguard and protect not only infrastructure but also data Able to work on several projects simultaneously
