**The Opportunity**:
We are looking for an energetic, hard-working, team player that loves to cook You know your way around a kitchen like the back of your hand. As a **Child Care Cook**, you will have an opportunity to let your creativity shine when preparing nutritious meals and snacks for our children.

**You Will** be responsible for preparing and serving all meals and snacks and the overall kitchen management. Along with the Supervisor assist and maintain stock conducting purchases/orders of food and other non-food items required for normal operation, monitoring quantities and maximum utilization in accordance with the budget. Ensure proper food storage and check expiration dates and rotation procedures are followed. Ensure proper cleaning/sanitization of all dishes and cooking utensils including any/all surfaces in contact with food. Ability to incorporate light housekeeping duties in daily routines. Other duties as assigned.

**Qualifications**:

- Food Handling Certificate
- Prior experience preparing meals in a business or institutional setting will be an asset
- Understanding and working knowledge of current Public Health Guidelines and Canadian Food Guide
- Experience with cooking for large groups
- Excellent communication and written skills
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Medical required - including TB (two stages) 6 months current to hiring date
- Police Vulnerable Sector Check 6 months current to hiring date
- Current Standard First Aid and CPR, level C
- Able to work Monday to Friday
- Provide proof of full vaccination against COVID-19
- Health and Safety Awareness Training (in 4 Steps)
- Ability to lift/carry heavy items/produce
