**Reports to**: Education/Family Well-Being Director
**Overview**:
The Kanien’keha Language Coordinator will coordinate education and knowledge development to raise awareness and understanding of Kanien’kéha Revitalization to achieve the short and long-term objectives with community resources and Indigenous cultural approaches.
**Key Duties & Responsibilities**:
- Enhance the students learning journey by providing opportunities to learn Kanien’kéha in their classes, program activities, and teachings as needed.
- Follow funding agreement requirements and guidelines for Kanien’kéha Revitalization to ensure its continued success to meet the needs of the community. Manage Departmental budget.
- Deliver and facilitate culturally appropriate programming to the community to provide information, awareness, and education of Kanien’kéha and culture to meet the needs of the community.
- Coordinate, organize, and facilitate workshops, training, and activities to provide community members with the opportunity to learn about Kanien’kéha by partnering with other program staff, and by using community resources, professional networks, and local agencies, keeping under program budget as appropriate for the community.
**Education and Experience Requirements**:
- Completion of Post-Secondary program.
- 1 year working with a First Nation language or culture.
**Skills Required**:
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Must be reliable and dependable, and committed to maintaining confidentiality.
- Must have the ability to work in and contribute to a team environment.
- Must have a proficient level of communication skills, verbal and written, and be comfortable dealing with the public.
- Must have the capacity to take initiative and to multi-task at times to accomplish the tasks and activities assigned.
- Must possess a current and valid Driver's License and dependable vehicle.
**Terms of Employment**:
This is a full-time position beginning immediately. Hourly wage will be based on qualifications and experience.
